Frequently Asked Questions

Can I start from a custom number?

Yes. Set the start number to any value.

Which positions are available?

6 positions: top-left, top-center, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-center, bottom-right.

Can I skip the first page (cover page)?

Currently, page numbers are added to all pages including the cover. A common workaround is to set the start number to 0 so the cover shows "0" and body pages start at 1, or delete the cover page first using Delete Pages and re-add it after numbering.

What font is used for page numbers?

Page numbers are rendered in Helvetica, a standard PDF built-in font. This ensures the output is compatible with all PDF viewers without requiring font embedding, keeping the file size minimal.

Will page numbers overlap with existing content?

Page numbers are placed in the margin area at the specified position. If your document has very narrow margins or content that extends to the page edge, choose a different position or reduce the font size to 8–10pt.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Yes. Page numbers are added as a new transparent text layer on top of all page content, including scanned image pages. The scanned content is not modified.

Does adding page numbers overwrite existing printed numbers?

New numbers are added as an additional layer on top of the existing content. If the document already has printed page numbers, both will appear simultaneously — remove existing numbers manually first if needed.

Does adding page numbers increase file size significantly?

No. Each page number adds only a small amount of text drawing data. For a 100-page document, the increase is typically just a few kilobytes — negligible compared to the original file size.
